With an unblemished record and a stellar camp like Roufusport supporting him, it’s a shame that Newman has only had two fights in the last two years. The former Bellator middleweight prospect is a stout grappler who can muscle his way into some nasty submissions. Currently, the most important thing is to get his conditioning in order and secure consistent fights.

Syaha isn’t a flashy opponent, but the Egyptian is experienced and has won seven of his last eight fights. Despite being stopped in his last outing by Mike Shipman, Syaha is one of the best middleweights to come out of the Middle East. He has solid power and awkward technique that can fluster opponents who are unsure of what they’re looking at. With that said, Syaha has slow feet and has a habit of trying to bounce while still being flat-footed. This makes his movement telegraphed and open to counters. One of the first things to go for an inactive fighter is timing, but if Newman takes his time, he could counter Syaha perfectly with a well-placed strike.
